Explore the heart of Corcovado, the Sirena Biological Station. After an exciting boat ride you’ll arrive to “the most biodiverse place on earth” to discover some of its wonders.
This tour starts early in the morning at Drake's beach, Agujitas, where you take the boat towards Sirena. The boat ride offers amazing views of Corcovado and the Pacific Ocean. There's the possibility of encountering dolphins, turtles or even whales depending on the season (July to November).
After the 1 hour 15 minute boat transfer you will enjoy hiking the trails around the Sirena Biological Station looking for all forms of wildlife. On this tour you get to appreciate that Corcovado is home to thousands of species of plants and trees that sustain a great diversity of wildlife. Monkeys, anteaters, toucans, scarlet macaws, coatis, poison dart frogs, and snakes might appear on the way. If you are one of the lucky ones, you will have the chance to see the biggest land mammal in America, the tapir!
This tour begins and ends in Drake Bay.
Things to bring: Minimum 1-2 liters of water per person, sunscreen, insect repellent, hiking shoes (protected, comfortable and preferably waterproof), sandals, light and quick dry clothes, hat or cap, handkerchief, swimsuit, snacks, camera, binoculars (optional) and sunglasses (optional)
